How we, as lawyers, communicate with our lay clients is something that has always fascinated me.

This led me to develop various client-centric leaflets in an attempt to demystify ‘legalese’ as well as producing regular printed newsletters with the idea of the ‘soft cross-sell’ of property services to litigation clients and vice versa.

I was called to the Bar in 2001, dual-qualifying as a Solicitor in 2008, and I’ve often found that the Latin maxims that we may view as the tools of our trade are seldom of comfort to an accused who will only really want to know if he’ll be out at Christmas!

In 2011, I suffered a significant permanent brain injury. Since then, I have learnt to walk, talk, and read again. This coincided with the advent of social media which, coupled with email marketing, now affords the forward-thinking firm the opportunity to communicate more effectively with existing and potential clients whilst measuring return on investment in ways that could never be achieved with traditional print media.

I graduated LLM Master of Laws, with commendation, in 2016 for my research on social media and data privacy laws. In 2019, I was elected to Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) and awarded Fellowship of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA).
